How did you discover the figure of the OP?
As a technophile. Searching on the Internet, reading articles (mostly in English) and experiences of other people in my situation. I thus discovered that there were professionals who could guide me.
Why did you decide to turn to an OP?
Because everything I had tried in the past had not worked. I read guides and tried it myself but I needed a person who would force me to stop from my busy life, who would open my eyes and tell me where to start.
What was it like working with an OP?
Simple and straightforward. The first thing I realized was that my mental clutter did not allow me to analyze the clutter at home well. The first, crucial part was answering Francesca's questions and preparing a clear plan. From then on, the road was downhill.
Are you satisfied?
Yes. The final feeling was, "But it's easy!" Which allowed me in the following months to carry the process forward independently. I didn't expect in one day to solve every problem at home but to be able to reapply the same newly learned concepts over and over again on my own. Therein lies the real strength of working with an OP.
Would you recommend it? Why? To whom?
Yes I would recommend it to those who, like me, have a hectic life that has led them to neglect tidying up their home and give it too low a priority. There are ways to work independently but you often need that kick start to avoid making mistakes from the beginning. I see the PO a bit like the Personal Trainer of tidiness: you don't have to follow it all your life but it teaches you to get those first little results on which to build everything else!
