Francesca Pansadoro on Geo – World Organization Day
20 May 2024
Courage and entrepreneurship to be, in Spain, the first P.O. baby organizing, trainer of future P.O.'s and president of AOPE.
I can proudly state that the guests who come to our table always prove to be a real opportunity for growth for APOI Members: having the opportunity to engage with them, ask questions, and discover new frontiers of the profession stimulates Italian P.O.s to do better and better, to revive and support the growth of the profession in our country.
The testimony of Alba Caamaño (link https://organizadoresprofesionales.com/directorio/orana/), Spanish by birth, current President of AOPE (link https://organizadoresprofesionales.com/) - Asociation De Organizadores Profesionales De España, brought us closer once again to P.O.'s around the world. We learned about the experience of a woman who has gone through many life changes, a true entrepreneur of herself, who has been able to turn her passion for organizing into a recognized profession.
As we often encounter with our clients, life presents us with constant challenges that force us to face significant changes, and we know how much organization goes hand in hand with change. Alba was a generous witness in recounting her life experiences, which proved to be valuable sources of inspiration for a new career path.
Change, courage and professional development
His first step into the profession was Marie Kondo training in 2013. During the same period, she studied marketing, advertising and communication thus gaining a comprehensive education to deal with her subsequent entrepreneurial experience.
In 2010 he founded his first business, but it was in 2017 that he faced his first big change, emotionally and materially: he divorced, sold everything, and went to live in Asia and Australia, leaving with a suitcase weighing just 13 kg!
A life encased in a suitcase and a lot of courage in your body
In Australia she has her first work experience as a professional organizer, where she is hired by a company that recognizes her role.
Alba did not stop and, believing that education was very important to nurture her professional growth, she decided to deepen her knowledge of digital marketing with a master's degree, all fruitful seeds for the entrepreneurial life ahead: she founded ORANA ( https://organizadoresprofesionales.com/directorio/orana), her second venture.
But another big change is upon her: she becomes a mother. She then decides to return to her native country, where, before long, she faces another turn of events: the pandemic.
We all know how much this world event has affected many people's lives, a major reset on a professional level and beyond.
From this crisis and her life experience, Alba embarked on a new challenge and moved her offerings online and specialized as P.O. baby organizing ( an article about it here ).
Not satisfied with her achievements, she relaunches again, creating a support service for Spanish Professional Organizers who want to approach the profession from an entrepreneurial perspective, offering training and mentoring courses.
In 2020 she became a member of the Spanish AOPE Association ( https://organizadoresprofesionales.com/ ), the following year she was the head of Marketing, and in 2022 she was its president.
During her webinar, Alba was keen to emphasize the value of being a member of the Association, as it enriches her for professionalism, authority, support and professional growth.
In addition to these added values, Alba can rely on collaborations with colleagues and partnerships with companies in the industry.
The specialty he chose, how and why
Alba's specialist choice started from her experience as a mom: becoming a Professional Organizer specializing in BABY ORGANIZER was natural for her; she simply listened to herself.
This testimony of his underscores once again the added value for every P.O. to start precisely from his or her own experience, professional and life, to define his or her specialty and market niche.
She has put at the service of other moms, her know-how, turning her experience into a professional proposition.
For APOI members, it was an epiphany to hear how Alba chose to specialize, creating a new field of work and how she was able to grow this field by creating a lasting and thriving business.
Alba wished to share with APOI members, some important points, which she believes have helped her in her P.O. career:
- not to be afraid of not knowing how to do everything, but rather to specialize as best you can in what you choose;
- the more you specialize, the easier it will be to reach the desired target audience;
- initiating collaborations with colleagues and networking is key;
- don't forget to train to continue to grow, evolve and improve.
Our "European cousin" (with France, Spain is the European association with which we have the most direct contact) has given us a broad view of our profession, but above all, it has taught us not to be frightened in the face of change, which can prove to be a real opportunity for growth, a stimulating challenge in life, since only when you step out of your comfort zone are you forced to get involved and move toward the new.
I like to end the articles devoted to our international guests with words that represent them for Alba I would choose: courage, entrepreneurship.
#APOIinternationalGuest looks to the future with a new wealth of knowledge: thank you Alba!
