I wished to set up general management differently

APOI, not just Italy, but much more
29 April 2020
- How do you stand in relation to the emergency we are experiencing, how do you deal with this unprecedented challenge?
The only key in my opinion, both personally and professionally, is to approach the situation with positive thinking, valuing more of what we have and giving room for creativity. In private life by enjoying our affections and in professional life by transforming our job offerings, many of us will have to reach our target audience with different and innovative tools and strategies.
- How are you reacting to the risk from
coronavirus? As a mom, what worries you most?
Having the
good fortune to be able to work in Smart working mode, this allows me to control
more the risk of contagion, even my son, 15 years old with great
maturity and resilience has been able to adapt to this new lifestyle,
sharing with friends a "new kind of communication," online meetings
to be able to socialize, even if deprived of the warmth of a hug. But not
can I hide concern for the future, for the recovery of the economy,
and as a mom especially, I feel as if life has snatched from children and
teens an important stage of growth in which school, sports and friends are
important elements in their evolution.
- What narrative are you giving your children
of the emergency we are experiencing?
I try to convey to my son the right view of things, how much this difficult
experience is nevertheless teaching us so much, "life" acting as a teacher, in
which everything we took for granted has suddenly become very
precious and unattainable, what better lesson to grow and mature? Not
is always easy but it is still an opportunity to share and compare. I take
the opportunity to make him understand how man can become his own worst enemy
if he is unable to move in the right way, putting the human being
at the center and with him respect for the environment.
- How are you managing family life
during this quarantine?
As a Professional
Organizer I certainly start at an advantage in that I have used for myself
and my family the tools and strategies that I offer to people who choose
my counseling. I have a valuable understanding of how
organization can be a very valuable tool in dealing with change
especially when it comes suddenly and unexpectedly. The management
of time that needs to be revolutionized in relation to the new pattern of our
days, requires a shared schedule with the rest of the family,
giving fixed points is very important especially for children and teens
but also for us adults who are experiencing a time of great stress. It is also
an opportunity to learn new skills, kids can learn to
cook and participate more actively in household chores. Yes
they can share challenging games or watch TV series that teach. We take
the opportunity to make our time "productive" even if it is in a different way,
but it is still an opportunity to learn.
- How did you arrange the work?
As a professional I operate on two different work channels, for my clients
private(www.tuttoaposto.com) while for training
social impact projects with our company(www.organizzareitalia.com).
My way of working has always been based on the
setting of Smart working, and this has
made it much easier for me to deal with the lockdown, as my
work habits have not changed, I just had to know how to integrate them with my son's
presence at home and his Smart schooling needs. When working in
Smart working mode, i.e., by objectives, one must know how to approach the
workday with very clear ideas, planning the time well to
arrive at the end of the day satisfied and productive.
- What tips on how to live at
best this quarantine period do you want to share with moms?
I always define
the home a small business, as there are
many aspects to be managed, and just like in a business, I suggest having a
family meeting to understand what everyone's needs are and what solutions to adopt
at this very complex time, it will be an important way to make everyone
participate. Sharing needs, schedules, wishes, and tasks is important for
getting off on the right foot. After that draw up a Roadmap,
placing it in a place visible to all, (the kitchen is often the most
suitable place).
- How do you think things will change after
covid-19?
It is hard to say, because man adapts to everything but also forgets very
easily, I wish for a better world, but it depends on each of us, how
we will manage to be a better person in our daily lives. Would we
have learned our lesson? Having said that I think that initially people will be
afraid, they will make it more difficult to socialize, to let go of new
encounters, we may lose the "spontaneous movement towards each other" ... but
I hope that it will be short-lived and that the vaccine can reassure and heal our
fears and uncertainties, much will depend on science but it will be difficult to lose the
sense of vulnerability and fragility that we have known.
- What negative scenarios do you fear most,
for the near future, and what positive scenarios do you hope forinstead ,
culturally, socially and economically?
I hope
that this experience can teach each of us and governments all over
the world, how to dwell on the true values of life, how to respect
nature more, give less importance to economic interests, giving
more space to research, putting human physical and mental well-being at
the center of our future. But the fear is that we will forget all too quickly,
history has taught us that not even the most terrible wars have made us avoid
the next ones. - What are the priorities to focus on
when the emergency gives way to the resumption of a new normalcy, when
we can start leaving home again, studying and working not only remotely?
In addition to the world of work, which will entail an economic recovery that will allow
everyone to return to leading a more serene life, I think our interest
should turn to the world of young people, children and young people, we have a duty to
rebuild their daily lives, made up of stimulation, culture, socialization,
nurturing the hope of a better future than the one they are currently experiencing
.
What opportunities are you taking from this crisis, what positives do you think you can take from it, and how do you plan to enhance the experience, humanly and professionally?
Humanly I am enriched every day, as it increases in me the awareness of how much I have received from life to date. In the small gestures one grasps a greater closeness to others, the community, those who seemed more distant until yesterday, are now more reachable, more available.
Professionally is a new Challenge, how to make my offerings more usable despite the fact that the physical distance has increased? How to use the digital world in the best possible way without falling victim to it? There are so many questions I ask myself and finding new answers is the challenge that life requires of me today.
