Always too connected

Interview with RDS – The Organization
20 December 2020
Dreams in the drawer can become reality, but often the saying "unity is strength" is true, as alone, the road ahead can be longer and more impassable.
We at Organize Italy know this well, because the happy meeting with the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation(https://www.nandoandelsaperettifoundation.org/en/page.php) has enabled us to accelerate our pace in promoting an innovative project in which we firmly and passionately believe: "Educating to Organize," that is, bringing the teaching of personal organization into schools in order to transmit and improve the organizational skills of children, youth and teachers, thus equipping them with skills and resources that will make them happy people and better citizens.
Special encounters
In 2015 I had my first appointment with the Peretti Foundation, in a building in the center of Rome, an ancient elevator, witness to different human stories, transported me to what would be a fundamental meeting to bring our dream to life.
I remember my excitement, knowing that the support of such a prestigious foundation would mean first and foremost that our idea was sound, all to be built with patience and tenacity, but that the foundation was solid.
My exchange took place with people who were attentive, motivated to lend support to a social impact project, used to receiving thousands of proposals from all over the world, had shown curiosity and interest in our idea--what joy!
When the official approval came it was a celebration, the Educational team of Organize Italy received a burst of positivity and energy, we were no longer alone, we would receive valuable support from those who believed in us and our ideas, unaware of how much fruit would blossom from that first little big seed!
Together to Make a Difference
Organize Italy and the Peretti Foundation care about projects that have a social impact by producing a positive effect on people and the environment.
The Peretti Foundation, was established in 2000 and has since dedicated its resources to projects touching on issues related to environmental conservation, social inclusion, human rights protection, health, art and culture, and school education; awarding grants to more than 1,000 projects worldwide.
Our common vision facilitated the synergy that came about for the "Educating for Organization" project that aims to develop organizational skills bringing growth and benefit in terms of: greater independence and responsibility, greater confidence and concreteness, understanding of the importance of limits and boundaries, better time management, easier decision making, learning to take care of one's belongings, oneself and everything around us, learning to give oneself goals and set priorities, learning to manage emotions by finding the right tools, without losing heart to deal with difficulties. It also makes people better and more capable of managing themselves in relation to the community in which they live, transmitting important values for facing daily challenges, lowering the level of stress to which we are too often subjected.
From then to now
The first support from the Foundation in 2015 gave us a valuable initial push that over time has allowed us to enter schools in various Italian cities, giving children, youth and teachers in Rome, Ravenna, Mantua, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza and Palermo the opportunity to touch our proposal with their own hands, generating enthusiasm and interest because the results are tangible!
Today with the Covid emergency, the Italian school, and not only, is facing a reality that is not easy to live with, in which children and teachers live an ever-changing daily routine with constant underlying uncertainty. Never before have organizational skills been as supportive and helpful in finding right solutions to best manage the situation.
This gave rise to the idea of proposing a new, entirely online course of support for teachers, "Teacher Training for a New Way of Schooling." A new stage of the "Educating to Organize" project once again subsidized by the Peretti Foundation. In this online course, we are proposing an innovative methodology called Neurorganizing that enables training in organizational skills in response to changes in the world of schooling in the Covid era.
An organized lifestyle helps teachers to pursue their educational task, to carry out disciplinary programs more effectively, and to respond more easily to the organizational needs of pupils, managers, and colleagues. Today the teacher, given the situation, finds himself relating differently with pupils, family members, colleagues and superiors, with entirely new dynamics, with rules and stakes to be met that make everything very complex and led by a feeling of precariousness.
The project thus helps to rethink organizational strategies in a completely changed context of relationships. It wants to lay the focus on being organized for one's own well-being to the broader logic of making the whole chain of relationships organized in the new way of doing schooling. Consequence: the increased well-being of the whole organization.
Our enthusiasm, once again is fueled by the generosity and vision of Elsa Peretti, who believes in a better world, giving the opportunity to so many people, not only in Italy, to pursue innovative initiatives and ideas to improve the lifestyles of so many.
Thank you Elsa!
