It’s carnival, organization and creativity
26 February 2019Concentration and focus are important resources and are part of our physical and mental energies, which are very valuable for the progress of our lifestyle.
If concentration and focus are not monitored and well trained, they can greatly facilitate the development of Disorganization.
I recommend you:
- Go into the day with very clear ideas of what you want to pursue and accomplish. A To-do-list (which means 'to-do list' in English) will be an excellent road map, ideal if you fill it out the day before for the next day, perhaps over a good herbal tea or otherwise in a relaxed situation, so that you can better ponder what to do.
- Avoid interruptions, especially the notifications that constantly come to our smartphones, notifications from social media or the apps we use to communicate with the world. But it is also an interruption simply to go from one thought to another or from one action to another interrupting what you are doing. It helps your mind stay on track and focused. At first it will feel like a lot of effort, but then you will see, a good habit once picked up gives great satisfaction. Help yourself with the use of a timer, do you know the tomato technique? You can read it on the internet, but you can start with 20/25 minutes concentration and 10 minutes break.
- Writing helps. Writing is like having an external memory where you collect down ideas and possible new paths, allowing the mind to be much lighter and thus giving ample room for creativity. In addition, just writing down what we intend to do also helps the photographic memory, stimulated precisely by seeing the written words.
