New year, what calendar?
12 January 2020Christmas is the most wonderful holiday of the year--at least for those whose closest relatives include their children! Experience this time as a date with imagination and creativity, it is a wonderful cue to do more things together with them... just get organized!
Some valuable advice:
- Starting right from habits, it's good to create healthy anticipation, put lots of nice things on the calendar to do together in preparation for the big day, room for creativity, a magic that everyone can create and share.
- To fuel this magical anticipation, search for a book about Christmas that you can read in the evening with your children before putting them to bed, perhaps one that tells about how Christmas is experienced in the rest of the world and with what traditions. It will be a way to tell your children about other cultures, to stimulate and intrigue them! Even an Internet search will be enough to make interesting discoveries!
- Santa's factory--the inspiration to create. For example a decoration for the front door... cutting, gluing, creating, besides being great fun it becomes a shared time that will be part of everyone's memories forever. Take advantage of the internet, Pinterest for example will come to your aid with many beautiful ideas! Remember that you do not have to achieve perfection but have fun with your children! Decorate the house with them.
- Everyone in the kitchen! In many countries around the world, making cookies is part of Christmas traditions! For us it has become an unmissable event and has turned into a gift for all relatives, under the tree they find a bag with decorated shortbread cookies, children will love to be bakers and room for imagination with colorful ribbons and personalized cards! Success is assured because you can grasp how much effort and affection has been invested in such a "tasty" gift.
